I am currently based at the Yogi Art Centre, an alternative nature school in Goa, India where I piloted the outdoor edible classroom project at the start of 2018. I will return in October 2018 for a 6 month phase two of the project.
During my travels in India I have come to love this incredible country and saddened by the solid grip agricultural evil giants like Monsanto have on the food sovereignty of 1.2 billion people, the mass farmer suicides (over 250.000 suicides, often drinking the very poisons they were given by Monsanto to put on the land) the lack of fresh, organic produce I am inspired to help change this problem and come up with solutions to address it.
I feel passionate about sharing my knowledge to empower locals with the skills needed to grow clean food and help transition to natural food producing systems following Permaculture design ethics and principles.
I am curating a team of skilled and motivated individuals to join me in the creation of a small community of creatives to enrich the school’s facilities and expand the food growing areas. The vision is to design and implement an edible classroom, a multi sensory playground and add a plant/tree nursery and seed bank. To help achieve these goals I shall be running the volunteer programme for the school and leading short and long accredited permaculture courses, with a focus on food growing, learning through play, storytelling, and using social permaculture and cultural emergence as tools to help shift the current paradigms of scarcity and fear, and initiate change grass roots up.
This autumn from October 5th till the 18th 2018, we are starting the season with the second edition of the Yoga and Permaculture PDC at Khaama Khetna in Agonda, South Goa. For more details please click here.
We are currently looking for two motivated assistants that have completed their PDC and wish to further their knowledge in teaching and learning to help with the permaculture sessions. Please get in touch if this is you!
